As we get closer to fall, I love going back through the archives to reminisce on last year’s beautiful sessions. This one was particularly memorable! You may remember Emily and Tim from their other engagement session blog post. They opted to do an extended session and visit both the DC monuments and their own neighborhood in Yards Park! During the first half we took engagement photos at the Lincoln Memorial and the Jefferson Memorial. Then, we met up again at Yards Park for an outfit change and to get their adorable pup, Katsu!
Not only did we make the most of that stunning morning light, but we also got gorgeous weather! It was the perfect setting for an October portrait session in the city. I’ve done many sessions at the Yards Park, and it never disappoints. From the waterfront views to the beautiful architecture, we can always find the perfect spot! The fall leaves are also beautiful this time of year. Add in a newly engaged couple and their pup, and it’s perfect! Katsu truly stole the show with his good behavior, adorable poses, and go-with-the-flow attitude. He has his own Instagram account, so I knew he would crush it! Special shoutout to Rachel (their friend, neighbor, and one of my clients!!) for being on leash duty when we took photos of just Emily and Tim together. Emily did the same for their Yards Park anniversary session earlier that fall, so it worked out perfectly.
Emily and Tim will be getting married this weekend in Atlanta, and I couldn’t be happier for them. Wishing you both the very best on this next adventure!!
