It’s a little bittersweet writing today’s blog post because I had so much fun with Jen and Rob, and now I’m sad I won’t get to work with them all the time!! Â They are both such kind, genuine people, and being around them is simply the best. Every time I saw them, they would take the time to ask how my day is going. And they genuinely cared about the answer! We bonded over the stresses of wedding planning (my own wedding is only two months away), had a blast during their snowy Old Town Alexandria engagement session and even had a great time finalizing their wedding day details over coffee.
By the time their wedding day arrived, I knew it would be filled with so much love. It was obvious from the sweet toasts, huge smiles and tons of laughter throughout the night that Jen and Rob are loved by so many. Being present during the celebrations was truly an honor!
And despite rain making an unwelcome appearance, we were still able to have the gorgeous outdoor ceremony they planned. It drizzled on and off for a bit, but luckily the storms stayed away!
It also made my day when Jen and Rob told me doing a first look was the best decision. I’ve shared why doing a first look is such a wonderful option before, but it’s always so nice knowing it helped them enjoy their day so much. Thanks to their decision, we were able to get through the bride and groom portraits, wedding party photos and family formals before the ceremony even started.
So even though the weather was being unpredictable, they didn’t have to worry about photos – they were already done! Instead, they got to relax with their wedding party, enjoy a drink and get excited about saying “I do.” And after the ceremony, they were able to jump right into the fun at cocktail hour (after a couple “just married” portraits, of course!)
I’m going to miss seeing them all the time, but I couldn’t be happier that these two are officially husband and wife!! I just know they are going to have a beautiful future together. Enjoy some of my favorite photos from the day!
