As an Old Town Alexandria maternity photographer, I adore early morning sessions by the water. The Potomac River is so beautiful at this time of day. Not only do we get to see the sunrise, but we also soak up the serene moments without the crowds. Whenever I do sessions at this time of day, we are usually the only ones there.
These were taken on a gorgeous morning in October – one of the last warm days of the season! Mama wore one of my favorite dresses in the client closet. It’s soft, flowy, and oh so pretty for both maternity and newborn photos! When you book me as a photographer, you also get complimentary access to the dresses because I know it can be so difficult to pick out what to wear for these sessions. Instead of worrying about ordering dresses, trying to guess your size with your growing bump, and hoping it will photograph well, pick one from the closet so you don’t have to stress. You can even stop by my photography studio to try them on beforehand so you know exactly what to expect – and what your partner and kids should wear to coordinate!
Maternity photos in Old Town Alexandria is a top choice because of the variety of locations. We often start by the water, then wander around chasing the light at some of my top spots. I look for unique architecture, the way the light is falling that day, and of course we look for colorful leaves if you’re doing a fall session.
