I’ve been wanting to do lavender field family photos for a while, so I was thrilled when this beautiful family suggested it for their location! In Northern Virginia, the lavender has peak bloom between mid-June through early July. We planned every detail around this gorgeous location (Seven Oaks Lavender Farm). Molly chose a stunning Needle and Thread gown, and her daughter’s white dress and bow complemented it perfectly. Her husband wore a navy suit to tie together their look. And of course, their pup, Charlie, wore an adorable bow tie so he could look dashing as well.
These lavender field family photos were taken just before sunset. Golden hour is my favorite time for sessions (either right at sunrise, or just before sunset). That golden glow is unbeatable!! I also took these photos on medium format film and digital. I used Fuji 400H film, and the scans were processed by PhotoVision. If you’re interested in adding film photography to your session, let me know when you book!! I would love to bring film magic into your session. See a few favorites below!
