First, I have to tell you I had the best time capturing this beautiful lifestyle newborn session at the studio. Most of the photos below are film photos. By film, I mean they were taken on a medium format film camera. I often compare film photography to a painting – the soft, creamy tones lend a painterly feel. In my personal opinion, film photography also captures a moment in a more artistic way. With film each and every shot is intentional. When combined with the natural light in the studio, it’s truly a dream come true as a photographer!
You may remember Andrea and Brendan from their stunning waterfront maternity session back in April. (If you haven’t seen it yet, check out their film maternity photos here). As you can imagine, I couldn’t wait to see Brendan and Andrea again – this time with baby Evelyn! As always, my lifestyle newborn sessions focus on your connection as a family. Capturing your emotions in a natural way (and sweet details like those tiny toes) are always the priority. To accomplish this, the studio is set up in a minimalist way. White, neutral walls provide a bright setting. Cozy linens and swaddles add some texture and softness. The natural light does the rest!
