Studio Newborn Photographer | Northern Virginia
If this is your first time on my website, it’s great to meet you! I’m Emily, a studio newborn photographer based in Northern Virginia. My studio as shown in these studio newborn photos is located in Sterling, Virginia. I also serve clients throughout Washington, DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia with in-home newborn photos and outdoor family and maternity photos.
When you think of studio newborn photos, you may think of the more “posed” newborn photos where baby is wrapped up in a specific themed outfit, often propped up in a basket or surrounded by other props. My photography, however, is lifestyle newborn photos. This simply means I focus on your connection as a family! Individual photos of baby will be simple and sweet, often in a white swaddle or simple white onesie. You’re welcome to bring individual outfits, but we always aim for timeless final photos instead of trendy ones. I always take photos of the parents with baby, both together and individually. And of course, if you have other children, we’ll take some sibling photos and photos of the family all together!
This beautiful session is a great example of what you can expect for your own studio newborn photos. Mama chose a gorgeous gown from the client closet – (learn more about my client closet of dresses here). And we styled everyone else based on that look! I particularly loved all the sweet big brother baby brother moments throughout their session. He was so excited to give him all the kisses, and it was simply adorable. Towards the end of the session, dad left with big brother so mama could have some quiet time with just her and baby. During this time I took her photos with baby, along with some more individuals of just baby alone.
