One Year Baby Milestone Photos | Summer Portraits in Northern Virginia
Summertime is a beautiful time of year for one year baby milestone photos! These were taken at Manassas Battlefield National Park in Virginia. It was early June, and while it was warm, we hadn’t quite hit that middle of the summer heatwave just yet. We chose to do an evening session both for those golden skies and to stay a little cooler. It was perfect for both of those!
Becky wore a beautiful white dress from J. Crew that was lightweight and breezy – ideal for summer days. (The dress is now available in the client closet!) We put dad in a classic combination – light tan pants and a short sleeve button down. And baby girl looked adorable in a slightly darker romper with ruffle shoulders and a subtle floral print. When planning the outfits, I always recommend finding mom’s dress first, then matching everyone else around that in a cohesive color palette. I especially love how the blue looks with film photography – so gorgeous and timeless!
I had the honor of photographing Maddie’s first year of photos (newborn, six months, and now one year). It has been a wonderful journey watching this little family grow. Now I get to design their one year baby album, and I can’t wait to see how it turns out.
