Top Location for Photo Sessions in Northern Virginia 

Location: Manassas Battlefield National Park in Manassas, Virginia

Why I love it for photo sessions: Manassas Battlefield National Park offers open fields, rolling hills, and plentiful trees. It’s perfect for family photos, engagement photos, and maternity photos, especially if you’re looking for a location set in nature. There are many beautiful spots throughout the park, and I will create a custom session tailored to what you want most in your photos. I’ll also take into consideration things like – how far do you want to walk from your car to the portrait session? Do you prefer hills or the forest? All of my portrait sessions are completely custom, and I’ll help you make the most of your photos in this location.

Best time to take photos here: A morning session shortly after sunrise or the last few hours before sunset are the best time for photos here. Golden hour offers the most flattering light, and it definitely makes this stunning location even more beautiful.

Monday – Thursday are the best days for portrait sessions at Manassas Battlefield National Park, as this location gets very busy on the weekends. With little ones, it is especially difficult to keep their focus when there are so many people walking by us, or other photographers waiting for their turn. It’s also a more enjoyable experience in general when we’re not dealing with crowds.

Is a permit required? As of writing this post, a permit is not required for personal photos.

Parking info: There is easy parking throughout the park. I’ll tell you exactly where to park for your session.

Are dogs allowed? Yes! Just let me know before your session that your pup will be joining us. 

Are there bathrooms on-site? Yes, there are bathrooms in the visitor center.
