Meridian House Wedding Photos

Haley and Carter tied the knot on a beautiful fall day at Meridian House in Washington, DC. They got just the right amount of greenery and fall leaves, and the sun added a golden touch to everything. I’ve been dying to shoot at this classic DC wedding venue, so I was in heaven the entire day!

Working with Haley and Carter over the past year has truly been a dream. From their very first email, I could tell they were my kind of couple. They couldn’t wait to have all of their moments captured, but they also wanted to take time to simply enjoy their day. To start, I don’t know if I’ve ever met such a laid-back bride. Haley spent the getting ready part of the day hanging out with her favorite people, having a few sips of champagne and looking so relaxed throughout the whole process.

Despite the cooler temperatures, Haley and Carter were troopers during their incredibly sweet first look and portraits. In fact, they embraced the wind, and we ended up with some of my favorite veil shots to date! Not to mention, I absolutely loved both of their families. Everyone was so friendly, and you could just feel the love for these two the entire day.

And as it turns out, Haley is incredibly talented at calligraphy! She did all of the calligraphy for both the seating chart mirror and the place cards at each table setting. They turned out beautifully! I also loved the meaningful details they included throughout the day. Their signature drinks gave a nod to their hometowns. His: Boston Bourbon Sour, Hers: Virginia Blues Smash. Their favors were homemade Italian Peppers made using a family recipe. And they chose to do a first look so they could spend most of cocktail hour hanging out with their wedding party and guests.

It’s obvious Haley and Carter are meant for each other, and I have no doubt their marriage will be filled with so much laughter and lots of love. Congratulations, you two!! I hope you have a blast on your honeymoon, and I can’t thank you enough for asking me to be part of your day!
