This year, we spent Memorial Day weekend in a tiny house. Technically, it was a tiny cabin. But it had everything we needed to get away from DC for a few days, unplug and reconnect with each other.
We first heard about Getaway House from our family (who also joined us for the trip). They were planning a couple nights away with their pup, and when we saw the cute little cabins we immediately said yes! At only 2 hours outside the city, it was an easy way to get out of town and try something new. The cabins come fully stocked with most of the essentials, including a cellphone lockbox to help you escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. They also had a complimentary s’mores kit, which was a cute touch. I couldn’t resist bringing along my camera and snapping a few photos on film!
Spending time out in nature and away from our phones was the best part. Sometimes you just need to unplug and relax – Getaway House was the perfect way to do that! See some of my favorite photos from the trip below.
(If you want to check it out, they do have a referral program! You can save $25 on your first visit – and to be completely transparent, we would get $25 too! Go here to sign up: http://getawaycabin.com/nkJJ2)
