Another sunrise shoot for the win! This portrait session took place at Yards Park in Washington, DC along the Anacostia River. I’ve known Rachel and Grant (and their pups, Maggie and Hudson) for a couple years now. Working with them is always the best! Planning the session is always a breeze because Rachel has the best ideas. We both love film. And seeing their love grow each year for each other is a true honor. (Still loving everything they picked out for their Capitol Hill anniversary photos!)
They also actually live nearby in DC, so that made the sunrise part even easier. My favorite part with the location they chose has to be the waterfront views. My goodness, it’s gorgeous here! Easily one my favorite places in the city. The best part? It’s really quiet at sunrise, so it feels like you have the whole place to yourself. As a DC film photographer who uses both traditional analog film cameras and digital cameras, this part is so nice. You can slow down a little, enjoy the session and make sure each frame is exactly what we want without worrying about crowds.
It was wonderful seeing you again, Rachel and Grant. Cheers to a few of my favorites from the session!
Photos taken with both medium format film and digital cameras.
