A Look Back at Summer Memories

Tonight the sun sets on summer, and fall begins (in my mind, anyway). I always feel a little bittersweet about this, but I can honestly say this past summer was the best one yet! This time last year I had just moved to a new city with big dreams and a hopeful heart. Now, I finally feel like I’ve made this place my home. And nothing feels better than that!

So cheers to some amazing memories made with some amazing people!

This summer I….

  • Explored DC and northern Virginia! A year ago I was completely lost, but now I have a general sense of where I am most days. 🙂
  • Flew back to MKE to eat all the chips and orange salsa at Belair.
  • Visited my hometown to celebrate a best friend’s beautiful wedding, Serbian style.
  • Realized just how much fun second shooting weddings can be.
  • Celebrated my 26th birthday with close friends, margaritas and so many tacos.
  • Learned how to love flash in a single day.
  • Went to Universal Studios (and by that I mean Harry Potter World!)
  • Fell in love with sunrise sessions. Because that light is perfection.
  • Spent a few mornings drinking coffee on a balcony overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
  • Perfected my dive into ocean waves.
  • Proceeded to get stung by a jellyfish.
  • Faced my fears and got back in the water.
  • Went to my first concert at Wolf Trap.
  • Participated in my first styled shoot. Blog post coming soon!
  • Completed my lens collection (for now). The 70-200mm really completed my life.
  • Spent countless hours cuddling with Chewy the wauzer.
  • Realized that as busy as this season of life gets, it’s so important to slow down for a few minutes and enjoy the moment.

I would love to hear more about your summer in the comments! What was your favorite day?
