Old Town Alexandria Winter Engagement Photos

First of all, I can’t fully express how excited I am to share today’s blog post!! Sarah and Andrew are an amazing couple, and I’m beyond thrilled with how their engagement photos turned out. You see, when we went to plan the session, the world didn’t fully cooperate with us. We had originally planned on going to Great Falls Park, but Mother Nature (and the government) had other plans. The shutdown affected our access to the park, and the rain ended up causing all the hiking trails to completely turn to mud.

So what did we do? After a last-minute pivot, everything turned out beautifully.

Instead of going on a hike, we embraced the natural charm and beauty of Old Town Alexandria’s waterfront. Despite a rainy forecast, we ended up with my dream weather: slightly overcast for the first part of the session, and a gorgeous golden hour for the final touch. And even though this was a winter shoot, which can be so unpredictable, it wasn’t even that cold out. Add in the fact that Sarah and Andrew look stunning together with their stylish outfit choices, and you have magic!

Since Andrew is part of B’s side of the family, I brought him along for the day so we could all hang out together! (Thanks, B – you’re the BEST assistant!) Needless to say, it was the perfect way to kick off 2019.

Congratulations, Sarah and Andrew!! Thank you so much for visiting for the weekend. I’m sure we will see you soon, and I’m already counting down the days until your North Carolina wedding next December. It’s going to be an amazing day! Enjoy a few of my favorites below in the meantime.
