Allie and Sae’s engagement photos are here! We stopped at the Thomas Jefferson Memorial and Lincoln Memorial during their summer morning session. Funny story – as we caught an Uber to the second location, it started to rain which was completely unexpected! But it stopped just as we arrived, and the clouds stuck around. I ended up loving how they looked against the Washington Monument, so it all worked out!
Sae planned the proposal the weekend before Allie’s birthday, claiming it was a birthday surprise. This made it easy for him to invite her parents into town and plan a “birthday dinner” in Old Town Alexandria without her catching on. After dinner, they walked to the waterfront area. On the way, Sae was acting strange, walking ahead and constantly checking his phone. As it turns out, he was texting Allie’s best friend who was in position to take photos!
As they got closer to the water, Sae stopped and suggested a group photo by the pier before the sun went down. Then he got down on one knee and asked Allie to marry him! Her friend popped out of her hiding spot to capture the photos, and it was so windy Sae had to ask her three times if she would marry him – she was speaking so quietly, he couldn’t hear her say yes all three times! Now they’re planning a beautiful wedding in Washington, DC next year, and I can’t wait to capture those moments too.
Congratulations, you two! I loved hanging out with you all morning, and I can’t wait for all the celebrations next year. It’s going to be beautiful!
