Today’s blog post is extra special because both the bride and groom have been close friends of ours for a very long time. I’ve known Danielle since we were little kids! Our families have been intertwined in our hometown for decades. Chris has also known Danielle since they were little, and we have all been in the same friend group for ages. To say I was honored to shoot their wedding is an understatement.
They also took extra care in making sure all the details were meaningful. Chris made all the groomsmen tie clips – one of my favorite details, along with their card box and his own wedding band. Bre, one of the bridesmaids, made the boutonnieres. Together, they planned a day filled with personal touches and lots of love.
Unfortunately coronavirus changed their original plans, as most 2020 couples have experienced. However, Danielle and Chris pivoted without missing a beat. They found a beautiful nearby location for their intimate ceremony: Blue Lakes Trailhead in Breckenridge. They had hiked there in the past, so it felt like the perfect place to start their future. Surrounded by their closest friends and family, they exchanged hand-written vows. Through tears and laughter and so many smiles, they were pronounced husband and wife. And the rest is history!
From the mountaintop views to their strong love for each other, it was one I will always remember. As a photographer, it was a dream to capture this stunning location and all the fun moments that went along with it. As a friend, I wish them all the best as they start this next adventure together. Danielle and Chris – may you always find happiness, laughter and new places to explore as you continue your lives together. You mean the world to us, and we are sending all the love your way!
