If you know me, you probably already know I am NOT a morning person. I would much rather stay curled under a pile of blankets instead of venturing out into the world before dawn. But if there’s one thing that will get me up, it’s the anticipation of a sunrise session!

Enter: an adorable couple and a pinterest-worthy golden hour.

I crossed paths with Chelsea earlier this spring through photography. She was building her business, and I was looking to connect with creatives in the community. In the few short months I’ve known her, we’ve already faced 30 mph winds, torrential downpours and all the other beautiful moments that go along with a wedding day. (In other news, I’m starting to get used to Virginia weather.) I’ve been having so much fun as her second shooter, and I couldn’t be more grateful it worked out the way it did!

One of my favorite things about Chelsea is the way she talks about Toby. From our very first meeting at DeClieu Coffee, she couldn’t help but mention her handsome husband who has been so supportive of this dream of hers. Not only that, but he built her a desk so she could have an office to work in – I’ve seen photos of it on her Instagram page, and it’s gorgeous! Go look!

And since their second wedding anniversary was coming up (June 14 to be exact), I was thrilled to have the opportunity to document this love I’d heard so much about.

So this past Saturday I woke up at 4am and met both of them in Georgetown, just as the sun peeked over the horizon.  And I can tell you firsthand they were as cute as I imagined! If you don’t believe me, take a look at some of my favorite photos below.
