Zach and Juliet are officially Mr. & Mrs. St. Lawrence!! I had the honor of capturing their beautiful wedding at Atalaya Castle in Murrell’s Inlet, South Carolina last weekend. Between the gorgeous coastal locations and such an incredible couple, it was an unforgettable day!
The day started with getting ready at separate seaside homes in Pawley’s Island. From the moment I walked in, I could feel the love between Juliet and her family and bridesmaids. Laughter was a constant, and her bridesmaids surprised her with glittery Golden Goose sneakers to wear at the reception. Talk about the perfect gift!! It was so fun photographing this moment with everyone.
Next, we all made our way to the venue – Atalaya Castle! This historic venue was built between 1931 and 1933 by Archer and Anna Huntington. The history behind it is fascinating! (You can read more here).
Juliet and Zach chose to do a first look, which I always love. They also read letters to each other, which was a very sweet addition. I already knew these two were meant to be from seeing their relationship during their DC cherry blossom engagement photos, but this moment confirmed it even more! After a few tears from everyone, we had a blast taking wedding party and family photos before their ceremony.
As the day continued, I loved seeing all the personal touches Juliet and Zach included. Juliet’s talented mother hand painted the palm tree thank you gifts, along with the welcome ceremony sign. Her best friend also did a gorgeous live painting during the ceremony. The champagne wall was built by her brother, and her dad’s surfboards were a feature at the reception. Of course, I can’t forget the neon “St. Lawrence” sign! It was the perfect backdrop for fun photos.
My favorite part of the day, however, was sneaking Juliet and Zach out of their reception for a few golden hour photos on the beach! It’s no secret I adore waterfront venues, and this one was stunning. The beach was only a few steps away from the castle, making it the perfect little getaway moment for the bride and groom. It was so difficult selecting only a few of my favorite photos for the blog – there are so many I love! I hope you enjoy them below.
Congratulations again, Juliet and Zach!! I had the best time visiting South Carolina and documenting your gorgeous wedding. I wish you both the very best as you start your marriage together!
