Whenever I get a chance to combine travel and photography, I’m always on board. Not only do I get to explore a new place, but I also get to hang out with my couples!
So when Kathleen and Chris first inquired about my wedding photography, and they mentioned they wanted to do their engagement session in Williamsburg, Virginia, I knew it was going to be so much fun!
Kathleen and Chris are actually college sweethearts, and they met at William & Mary. This made wandering around campus even more fun, since everywhere we went was tied to their story! Both of their parents also can attribute the college with part of their love stories, which made it even sweeter. And of course, we couldn’t resist starting at Colonial Williamsburg – it’s just so charming!
Stopping at the Crim Dell Bridge for a few photos was on their must-have list too! According to legend, two people crossing the bridge while holding hands will be lifelong friends – and if they kiss, they’ll be in love for a lifetime. It ended up being one of my favorite spots! Other fun stops: the Wren building, Lake Matoaka and we kept stopping along the way because there are so many great spots on campus.
Most of all, I simply loved getting to know these two. As I always say, I somehow get the best couples. Not only are Kathleen and Chris kind and thoughtful, they know how to have fun!
Despite a gloomy forecast for the weekend, they stayed cool, calm and collected throughout the planning process – and on the day of, I barely had to pose them because they simply had so much fun together! We even stopped for dinner at The Cheese Shop afterwards, which was one of my favorite parts of the weekend. Both because hanging out was so much fun, but also because I’m officially obsessed with their sandwiches – when everyone says they’re delicious, it’s 100% true!!
Congratulations, Chris and Kathleen!! Enjoy a few of my favorites from the session. I’m already counting down the days until your beautiful wedding next summer!!
