There’s something special about the detail photos from your wedding day. Not only do they show your unique personalities, they also reveal your vision for the day! From your wedding colors to family heirlooms, these photos really tie your story together.
I always ask my couples to keep all the items together so when I arrive I can start shooting the details right away. It also means you don’t have to rummage around the getting ready room to find everything! It’s usually easiest to keep them all in one box, or in a certain section of the room.
One note: You’ll want to make sure you’ll include all rings together as well! That way I can borrow your engagement ring for a few minutes and capture all three rings together. Check out this blog post to learn more about preparing for the ring shots.

Also, if your florist can deliver a few flowers or pieces of greenery to use in the detail photos, it adds a beautiful touch! It’s always the best when we have those extra pieces to play with and create photos that are unique to your day.
Pro tip: You can also send your invitation suite to your photographer ahead of time! I love when I get it beforehand so I can carefully curate my style kit to match your aesthetic.
I always bring along a few items to style everything, including ring boxes and dishes, my style board so I have a clean backdrop and ribbon. If you have any of your own ring boxes or unique pieces to style, feel free to bring those as well!
It’s your wedding day after all, so you’re welcome to bring anything you’d like!
