This week’s Monday Soundtrack may be a day late, but it’s worth the wait! The past week and a half has been incredibly busy around here. Between a full wedding season and planning our own wedding, life has been a little crazy. But I wouldn’t have it any other way!
To start, we had the most amazing engagement party hosted by B’s parents, Barb and Brian. I can’t thank them enough for putting together such a fun day! Fisher family events are always exciting, but this one was extra meaningful. I also have to thank everyone who stopped by to spend time with us! B and I feel so incredibly loved, and celebrating our engagement with everyone was simply perfect.
To add to all the excitement, Allison (my best friend/matron of honor) and Ollie (her husband) stayed with us for half the week! They flew in from San Diego to visit DC for the first time, and it was the best timing because they got to meet everyone at the party.
Bonus: we got to be tourists for a couple days! We spent a full day in DC and Georgetown seeing some exciting things: the National Archives Museum, Newseum, the White House (presidential motorcade included), drinks at POV with a rooftop view, the monuments and Georgetown, just to name a few. Between wedding planning, catching up on life and sharing a few drinks by Old Town’s waterfront, it was a successful trip with two of our favorite people!
I spent the rest of the week catching up on work and shooting a few engagement sessions. I have weddings every weekend until November, so now I’m looking forward to celebrating with all of my amazing October couples!
I first heard this song while I was second shooting at a wedding. It started playing just before the bride took her first steps up a gorgeous staircase and down the aisle to her future husband. I don’t know if it was the piano, the lyrics, the meaningful moment I was capturing or all of the above, but it struck a chord in my heart. So I just had to share it with all of you: “I Get to Love You” by Ruelle. I hope you have a beautiful week full of love!
