BEST LOCATIONS FOR FAMILY PHOTOS | NORTHERN VIRGINIA

Location: Bon Air Rose Garden Park in Arlington, Virginia

Why I love it for photo sessions: Bon Air Rose Garden Park is as lovely as it sounds. This cozy park is filled with manicured gardens, brick paths, and unique architectural features. Peak bloom for the roses is between the end of May and early July. However, the gardens are beautiful from spring through fall. It’s perfect for maternity photos, family photos, engagement photos, and anniversary photos.

Best time to take photos here: The last few hours before sunset are the best time for photos here. Golden hour offers the most flattering light, and it filters through the trees to the west at the perfect angle.

Monday – Thursday are the best days for portrait sessions at Bon Air Rose Garden Park, as this location can get very busy on weekends.

Is a permit or admission required? As of writing this post, there is no photography permit or admission fee required.

Parking info: There is a parking lot immediately adjacent to the park.

Are dogs allowed? Yes! Just let me know before your session that your pup will be joining us.
