Happy New Year!!! Today’s Monday soundtrack comes to you on a Tuesday because I wanted to spend the first day of the year reflecting on 2017 (while relaxing on the couch). This past year has been quite the whirlwind: I went full-time in my photography business, worked with the most incredible couples, got engaged and started planning our own wedding!!
It was a year full of so much love, and I can’t put into words how grateful I am to each and every one of you. Being able to wake up and truly love what I do every single day has been even more than I imagined. So thank you for being here! And I hope you had a wonderful start to the new year!
The latest highlights:
A “Grind & Brew” coffee maker was hands down the BEST Christmas gift EVER!! Not only does it make a delicious cup every time, it also makes our home smell like a coffee house in the best way possible. Working from home has never made me happier!! Obviously, I’m sending a huge thank you to my future in-laws for being so sweet and surprising me with it!
Also, thank you to everyone who gifted me something with chocolate and caramel. You know the way to my heart!
Spending time with family is always one of the best parts of the holidays. We spent time with B’s family last week, and this upcoming weekend we’re visiting my family in Indiana! Bring on more holiday cheer!!
It’s safe to say Chewy had a good Christmas. He got a stuffed reindeer and lots of treats!! And I’m pretty sure he enjoyed all the extra snuggles.
Goal setting has always been an important part of my business. Building something from the ground up takes a lot of work! And it’s so much easier when I have a roadmap of where I am, where I want to go and how I can get there. So I spent the last few days of the year working through my PowerSheets to write down where I want my business to be this time next year – and maybe find some of that work-life balance I keep hearing about. I can’t share too many details just yet, but know I have BIG plans for the year!!
I ended my 2017 season with a gorgeous winter wedding at Harbour View!! It may have been chilly, but it was so beautiful. And I couldn’t be more happy for Patrice and James!! Here are a few sneak peeks below, and keep an eye out for their blog post soon!
And I can’t help but wish a big congratulations to all the newly engaged couples!! I’ve seen so many ring photos in my social media feed, and I am so excited for you!! Being engaged is it’s own little world: a whirlwind of happiness, excitement and once-in-a-lifetime moments. You know, the kind I love to capture!!
I have a few available dates left in 2018, and I’m starting to take on 2019 weddings! So if you’ve been waiting to reach out, send me a note to reserve your date. I would love to work with you!!
Song of the week:
New Year’s Day by Taylor Swift. Wishing you a wonderful year filled with love, happiness and adventures!!
