SoRelle and Michael chose Meridian Hill Park for their engagement photos for a few reasons. First, it’s in their neighborhood, so they were able to walk over the morning of the session. This is always a win in Washington, DC.
Second, it was the site of their second date, and they often walk through it on their way to other events in the city. We even found the same spot from all those years ago!
Finally, they’re celebrating their wedding at the historic Meridian House nearby, so it was a lovely way to bring together their story. SoRelle and Michael were complete naturals in front of the camera as well, which made the morning even more enjoyable. They can definitely make each other laugh! Spend an hour with them, and it’s easy to see why they get along so well.
Their story began at a Washington Nationals game, where they were both invited by mutual friends for a group outing. (Not a set up, I promise.) They started talking about music and journalism, and by the end of the night they were singing karaoke together!
Michael proposed during their annual weekend trip to Richmond. While they were walking at the University of Richmond (Michael’s alma mater), he got down on one knee at a gazebo over the water. SoRelle said yes, and here they are planning a beautiful wedding!
Congratulations, SoRelle & Michael! I can’t wait for August to get here! Enjoy a few more sneak peeks in the meantime.
