Great Marsh Estate Portrait Session Info | Virginia Photographer

Location: Great Marsh Estate in Bealeton, Virginia

Why I love it for photo sessions: Great Marsh Estate is a Georgian mansion located on over 121 acres of lawn and woodland. I’m not sure which parts I love better – the stunning columns, majestic mansion, tree-liend driveway, or the sun-drenched fields. It’s all beautiful!

It’s one of my all-time favorite spots – we even took our engagement photos here!!

Best time to take photos here: The last few hours before sunset are the best time for photos here. Golden hour offers the most flattering light, and my goodness it makes the views even more stunning! It’s an hour drive from DC and close to the town of Warrenton.

Is a permit or admission required? Yes, a photography permit is required. As of writing this post, it is $150 for outdoor access Monday – Thursday. They only allow a limited number of portrait sessions, so you’ll want to lock your spot in early!

Parking info: There is parking on-site next to the manor.

This sounds perfect! How can we book a Great Marsh Estate portrait session with you?

First, fill out my contact form here! I’ll be in touch within 48-business hours with all the details (although, usually I get back to you sooner). My email will include pricing info, my earliest spots available to book, and everything else. If you are ready to book at that point, you can easily do so online! If you want to chat first, you’re always welcome to set up a phone call or an appointment at my photography studio in Sterling to chat.

My portrait session calendar typically fills up 1-4 months in advance, with outdoor sessions taking place mid-April through mid-November. I recommend booking early to ensure you get a spot!
