The last cherry blossom session of the year is finally here! I met with Margo and Stu at the end of peak bloom. Although the gloomy weather seemed like bad luck for an engagement session, it was actually a blessing in disguise. As it turns out, when it’s a little rainy, you get the whole place to yourself!! Without the crowds, the morning turned into a leisurely stroll instead of battling the other photographers and tourists for the best spots.
We also had time to stop by the Georgetown waterfront for the tail end of their session. Margo and Stu have spent a lot of time in Georgetown together, and they both traveled over the Key Bridge to see each other when they were dating. So we had to get a few photos with that in the background!
These college sweethearts met while attending the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA. (I visited there for the first time this past fall, and loved it). Their proposal story is just as romantic!
While on vacation with his family in Maine, Stu chartered a sail boat trip for everyone around the bay. When Margo arrived, however, she was surprised to find the trip was just for the two of them. While out on the water, Stu pulled out the most perfect ring and asked her to be by his side forever. She said yes, and the rest is history!
They’re currently planning an elegant wedding at the Anderson House in the heart of DC, and I can’t wait! I had a blast hanging out with these two all morning, so I know I’ll love spending time together on their wedding. Bring on all the meaningful details, sweet moments and celebrations! Congratulations, Margo and Stu!
