If you live in the DC area, you already know last week was a big deal. It was peak cherry blossom season, which means the city and all the visiting tourists flock to the Tidal Basin to enjoy the forest of pink blooms! It’s always a little crazy, but you have to admit it’s beautiful. You can’t go wrong for engagement photos, especially if you want those iconic DC views and soft, romantic backdrops.
As a DC wedding photographer, I spent most of my week up at 4am to capture beautiful moments for my couples. And it was all worth it! Get ready for more cherry blossom blog posts soon because I have so many pretty photos to share with you!
My first session was with Erika and Doug last Tuesday, right at sunrise. They just got engaged on March 11th and were hoping they could fit in a cherry blossom session for their engagement. Luckily I had one spot left on my calendar, so it was a match made in heaven! Despite the crazy crowds, these two did an AMAZING job following my posing guidance. The result? Photos that look like they had the Tidal Basin and Thomas Jefferson Memorial all to themselves!! It’s amazing what the right angles and a little patience can do.
Congratulations, Erika & Doug!! I loved getting to know you two, and I hope you are enjoying all the fun moments.
