Catherine and John’s elegant Washington, DC wedding was the perfect way to kick off my 2019 wedding season. First, I have to say how much I enjoyed getting to know the bride and groom and both of their families. Throughout the planning process, I had already gotten to know Catherine, her sister, Laura, and mother, Pam, which was wonderful. I also had the opportunity to get to know John’s family and all of their family and friends all weekend long!
Not only did I get to capture their beautifully planned day, but I also got the chance to photograph a bridesmaid luncheon the day before and their rehearsal dinner. By Sunday, I really felt like I was part of the group! Everyone was so welcoming, and I can’t thank them enough for their hospitality.
When I found out the wedding would be at National Presbyterian Church and the Carnegie Institution for Science, I was thrilled! I love the classic elegance both venues offer. Of course, they were the perfect backdrops for Catherine’s gorgeous lace gown and cathedral length veil! From the smallest detail to their venue selections and everything between, their black-tie affair was perfectly suited for DC. Â And you know me – I loved the mix of neutral creams, blush, greenery and a hint of gold woven into their wedding decor and details.Â
Most importantly, it was a day filled with so much love. It was lovely seeing how much their families care about them, and I was honored to capture those memories.
I’m sharing just a few moments from their day below, and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. Their day was truly unforgettable, and I wish them so much happiness as they start their marriage!
