The Best Season for Engagement Photos

Are you looking for the best season for engagement photos? As it turns out, there’s no one right answer to this question!! It completely depends on your preferences as a couple, the location you choose and more.

This is one of the most common questions I get when it comes to engagement and portrait sessions, so I decided to create a guide for each one. Every season is a little different when it comes to photography, just like every couple. I recommend reading through each section to find out which one is the best fit for your story.

Also, I’m here to tell you it’s not a requirement to use your engagement photos in your save the dates. It can definitely be fun to do them that way, but you can also wait and do your engagement session during a season you love if you’re on a time crunch for save the dates! 

My husband and I had our own engagement session just a few months before our wedding, and we were so happy with that decision. My fall was already booked up, we didn’t want a winter session, and my one requirement was to be warm at the session. So we chose May! For our save the dates, we had our stationer create a design that mirrored our invitations – it was a win/win!
