This past Sunday Lindsay and Dan celebrated their love during a meaningful ceremony in Leesburg, Virginia’s gorgeous countryside. They couldn’t have picked a more beautiful fall day. From the gorgeous light to their fun reception exit, it was definitely a day to remember!
Lindsay and Dan met four years ago, and their first kiss took place at the Navy Yards Park – the same place we did their engagement session last spring. After getting engaged last October while visiting national parks in the Washington State area, they started planning a wedding full of meaningful details. While Dan is American, Lindsay is half-British, half-American. Since she grew up in the UK, they wanted to incorporate both of their backgrounds into the design.
To start, their wedding colors reflect the shared colors of the UK and US flags, featuring a dark rose-red and royal blue with hints of ivory. They also including colorful flag-bunting throughout the day. I loved how unique this looked as their ceremony backdrop, and they used it into their cake design as well!! Just wait until you see their cake topper – it is too adorable!
They also included travel as one of their themes since it’s one of their favorite pastimes together. In fact, each table was named for a National Park site they’ve visited together. And it came up during one of the speeches that Dan actually gave Lindsay an incredible gift while they were dating – a binder full of planned trips to visit National Parks since he knew how much she loved to travel. So sweet and thoughtful!! And I can’t forget the cool map they created for guests to sign. Obviously, every little detail was so meaningful to them as a couple, which made their day even sweeter!
The part that really touched me the most was how much these two are loved. From their family to their close friends, it was easy to see how happy everyone was to celebrate Lindsay and Dan’s relationship. The speeches throughout the evening made this even more clear. Lindsay and Dan are such wonderful people, and I have no doubt they are going to have such a beautiful marriage together!
Congratulations, Lindsay and Dan!! I’ve had such an incredible time working with you two, and I’m thrilled you can officially enjoy life as newlyweds. Enjoy some of my favorite moments below!!
