Friday Faves: Christmas Traditions

Happy Friday!!! Our holiday festivities officially start tomorrow, and we can’t wait!! I thought this would be the perfect time to share a Friday Faves blog post with some of our top traditions.

Our Favorite Christmas Traditions

1. Decorating the Christmas tree. Every year we pull out the tree and all of our holiday decorations on Black Friday so we can enjoy them the whole season! This year has been extra amazing since it’s my first holiday working from home full time!! Yay for getting things done next to twinkling lights all day!

2. Christmas movies! I’m sure they’re on your list too! Favorites include Elf, It’s a Wonderful Life, Home Alone, The Santa Clause and, of course, all the Hallmark movies. I had an editing marathon at the beginning of December, and I think I watched most of the ones on Netflix. Yes, it was worth it.

Mugs in general are always a win in my book, but the holiday ones are the BEST! My current favorite is a blue mug with penguins sledding down a hill.

4. Staying cozy. It doesn’t feel like the holidays unless I have festive flannel pajama pants, fuzzy socks and a cozy blanket! I was basically built to hibernate all winter, so it only makes sense that I spend most of my days curled up on the couch, even when I’m getting work done. I’m so grateful I found a career that allows me to do this – THANK YOU to all my incredible couples for helping me reach my dream of doing what I love every day!!

5. Adding a new ornament to the tree every year that represents a favorite memory! We started this tradition a few years ago, and it’s definitely one of my favorites! This year, B and I found an adorable camera ornament  when we went on a trip to Charleston after getting engaged.

6. All the Christmas desserts! My family always has roshky and nut roll, and his family makes delicious chocolate ting-a-ling. And of course, I won’t say no to some chocolate caramels!

7. Visiting family. Most of my family lives in Indiana, so we always go home for an extended weekend! Since my brother and his wife are nurses with tricky holiday work schedules, we always end up picking a separate weekend to celebrate together. Which works out so well, because it feels like we get an extra Christmas!! It also means we get to spend the actual Christmas days with B’s family, who live nearby. Yay for more celebrations!!

I hope you’ve been enjoying all of your traditions!! I would LOVE to hear some of yours in the comments below! And I hope you have an amazing holiday season celebrating with those you love!!
